Choose the Chromecast option when prompted about which device you are setting up. First, plug one end of the power cable to the Chromecast device and another to the power source. The objects placed between your router and the Chromecast device can cause interference. Hence, you should try to remove all the objects that can block Wi-Fi signals if possible.
Whenever Chromecast is powered down and back up again it automatically looks for updates. Update the two apps above to the latest version from the Google Play™ store. On the supplied remote control, press the HOME button.
Perform a factory reset
If they didn’t, then troubleshooting isn’t your problem. The Troubleshooting list involves 3 steps, and they work on both Chromecast and Google Home. Follow all of them and see if your problem is solved. The main cause is due to the problems with your home internet connection.
In such a scenario, what you have to do is reboot your whole network from the router. This will restart the whole connection and get rid of the cache stored on your router. As a result, a new connection to your internet service provider will be established. To reboot your router, simply locate where your router is placed. On the backside of your router, there will be a power button labeled ON/OFF.
Check for Interference Between the Router and Chromecast
Once the LED light blinks white and the TV goes blank, release the button. When the LED light turns solid white, release the button, and the Chromecast should then reset. Turn Wi-Fi off/on from the setup device, then reopen the Google Home app. The Google Home app may not recognize your Chromecast device due to a temporary bug.

If there’s something wrong with the Settings of your device doing a factory reset will change it back to normal. That’s why performing a factory reset on your Chromecast might solve this problem. If the colour of the light is white, it means that Chromecast is powered on. Verify the color of the LED light.
Reasons for Not Finding Chromecast on Your Devices
Connect the mobile device and your TV to the same network. If you use a dual-band wireless router, ensure your devices are connected to the same frequency. Another thing you can do is to update the router’s firmware – if there’s an update available. First, try restarting your phone, or your modem and router by disconnecting them for a few seconds and then turning them back on.
Make sure the WiFi and Google Home are visible and in range. If any of these two devices are out of range, put your Chromecast near them and make sure they’re connected. Still, if this doesn’t work, then don’t give up hope yet, because we’ve got more options to try.
From the Chromecast device
Completely close the Google Home app and then reopen it. Check if other networks are visible and in range, including your home Wi-Fi. So it’s certainly possible that you’re attempting to cast to a device that simply cannot, and never will, be able to cast. If you’ve made it this far, the most likely issue is that your Google Home, Chromecast and/or device you are trying to cast from, are on different networks. If the above steps didn’t work simply unplug your Google Home, wait about a minute and then plug it back in. To reset Google Home you have two options, one involves the Google Home app and the other the device itself.
